Getting a healthy body, looking good in front of a camera or mirror is so many people’s dream. Achieving these fitness goals may seem very tempting but for some individuals, it’s just a dream — it could be because of their lifestyle or because of their lack of patience.

What a great time it is to start working on individual fitness goals — as we are at the beginning of a year. Not only it is a great way to start a new year on a positive note but also healthy for the body.

Setting fitness goals just as a resolution is not the sustainable way. Yes, it is possible to get close to a dream physique within 1 or 2 years with a strict diet and dedication, but that could not be last throughout the whole life. We need something feasible.

So here is a list of things that might help you achieve your fitness goals.

A quality bedtime

If you ask me what do I choose between — quality nighttime sleep and 1 hour of exercise daily, I will always choose a good sleep over anything.

Fitness is not just about looking good from the outside or having six-pack abs.

A night of good quality sleep is good for your mental health, physical health, heart health, and the list continues. Sleep helps your brain work properly. While you sleep it maintain a healthy balance of hormones in your body. Do you know? muscles are not built in the gym, that all happens when you sleep.

This is why sleep plays a gigantic role in achieving anyone's fitness and health goals.

Choose a healthy diet according to lifestyle

According to research, almost 95% of the diets fail and those who were on their weight loss journey regain almost twice the amount of weight they have lost.

So what do you think is the reason behind this?

All of these diets fail because they are too much hard to follow for regular individuals. These fade diets are only suitable for bodybuilders who are prepping for their competition and have to lose a tremendous amount of body fat within a few months.

For a typical person, a diet should be according to their lifestyle which they can stick to while achieving their fitness target.

Some Tips: Calculate maintenance calories on the internet and eat in 200–500cal deficit or surplus — always try to have at least 1.8–2.0/kg body weight of protein daily.

Set a realistic goal

Goals are necessary to achieve anything in life. But having a goal that is nearly impossible to accomplish is stupid.

While in the starting it is easy to get influenced by anyone with a good physique, but building a good body can not be done within 6 weeks or 6 months. It takes so much more than that.

As I already mentioned before, a fitness goal should be something that is sustainable, and to sustain, it is mandatory to build it as a habit.

Unless you are taking steroids it takes time to build a good physique, that only can be done by doing the same thing every single day with patience.

Do not get too much obsessed with the journey

It is good to love the journey but getting too obsessed with a goal is also harmful. It can be directly or indirectly affect someone's day-to-day life.

So I will recommend, without thinking and overcomplicating things too much just keep repeating the same thing over and over again.

One more tip to add is rather than focusing on weight loss, set a goal for losing fat instead, and for weight gain focus on building muscle.

Choose a form of activity you love

Losing fat does not require doing intense exercises for hours and hours. Fat loss happens in a caloric deficit so all you have to make sure is whatever you are doing you are in a deficit at the end of the day.

So choose a form of cardio exercise or any activity you like and do it for 30–60 minutes daily.

And if you are planning to gain weight then eat in a surplus and still do cardio as it is good for heart health.

One more mature tip is even if you just want to look healthy and do not want to look like a bodybuilder please still consider doing any form of resistance training to maintain a good amount of muscle in your body.

That is all for this blog.

Hope you enjoyed it, share if you find it knowledgeable.
